WHY CHOOSE AERATION ?

There are a number of reasons why aeration is the go–to solution for a variety of issues that might affect a pond or lake. Choosing the right aeration system means you can deal more efficiently with issues like toxic or unpleasant gases, fish–kill, excess plant growth, muck, etc.

Aeration is really about supplying Oxygen to a body of water that has a certain carrying capacity for the organisms, most importantly bacteria that live in it. In layman’s terms, there’s a certain amount of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) a body of water requires to stay in a balance, and aeration allows pond owners or people with lake-front issues to better restore that balance.

At Deiceair we offer a variety of solutions when it comes to aeration, but the bench-mark for a modern aeration system, is found in our Bubble Tubing based  CanadianAir we also carry entry level systems for small ponds (the S.A.S system, perfect for Koi and other water features) as well as aeration fountains and circulators.

Depending upon the needs or goals, the layout and design, our basin-up CanadianAir systems are capable of mixing where necessary, and doing what most system can’t, supplying large amounts of oxygen to a pond or lake while still providing cold water refuges in deeper sections. This is especially important in cases where temperature sensitive fish may be part of the equation (trout) or where summer heat might be exasperated by the wrong system.

These linear aeration systems work gently from the pond or lake bottom, offering superior results, and more efficient operation.
The CanadianAir system has a much greater effect over larger areas, when compared to traditional disk diffusers and other aeration systems that produce coarse bubbles centralized in columns.

The key to the efficiency of our  system is the Tech Aire which is matched to the Bubble Tubing diffusers for best effect. This combination produces millions of Micro Bubbles from two sets of pores that run the length of the Bubble Tubing and rise slowly to the surface.  The large volume of tiny bubbles creates much more surface area, than competing systems and allows more oxygen transfer to take place using les electricity. This rich supply of oxygen restores balance to a pond, by creating a better climate for beneficial natural bacteria to break down gases, fish waste, plant matter, algae, excess nutrients and mucky organic sediments.

We use the same systems and approaches in commercial and municipal waste-water treatment where very specific targets for BOD5 (Biological Oxygen Demand) are required, and where measurements like SOTR (Standard Oxygen Transfer Rate) and SOTE (Standard Oxygen Transfer Efficiency) really matter. For the average residential user our clients can be rest assured that we try to match the most effective and efficient system to their needs
